Clementine Quilt A Long - Month #7 Completion

Hi Peeps!

I remember when I started the Clementine QAL waaaaaaay back at the beginning of the year how far away I thought July was and how I hoped that I could stay the course and get this quilt completed within the allocated time........

Well Holy Balls would you looky here!

Not only is it completed it is quilted and as I tap away here on these keys it is also being snuggled by the cutest wee fairy girl......not mine ...she has enough quilts...but another cute as a button small person.

Warning photo overload is about to occur ;)

I was originally going to use the same Riley Blake dot for the setting triangles that I had used throughout the quilt as the background but when I came across this gorgeous Art Gallery print in my stash I knew it would be perfect

Then I decided to piece the back with a soft yellow vintage sheet and a complimentary yellow solid....no idea of the name I've had it so long I can't remember....story of my life LOL

If you follow me on Insta you'll already know I played binding chicken and finished with only 4 inches to spare........ I live on the edge ya know!

Bound folded and all ready to go!

Thankyou Fat Quarter Shop for inviting me along on this fabulous quilting ride and for such a worthy cause

The final setting instructions to finish your quilt will be up on the Jolly Jabber at 9am 25th July and for the last time here is a list of the other fabulous quilters sewing along so you can oooh and ahhh over all the different choices

Talk soon Peeps x

Clementine Quilt a Long - Month #6 Strawberry Star

Hi Peeps!

It's the 25th again....I know I bang on about it but I can't be the only one who feels like the year is just whizzing past them? We're over halfway through it??

cid:image007.jpg@01D341B9.EBC38190

Anywho on to this month's block!

Once again I think this block would make a fab scrap quilt....

The Strawberry Star...so good to have a block this month that is actually quite easy to whip up and with very little effort when it came to point matching...phew!

Although I did manage some pretty awesome stripe matching......total fluke really!

As always this block is available to download for a small donation from here courtesy of The Fat Quarter Shop in aid of St Jude Children's research hospital.

Next month is the last post and it will give you the setting options to complete your quilt....I can't wait to see mine all together and deliberately have kept them tucked away in a box as I complete each month so I get a surprise also LOL

There are quite a few fabulous quilters sewing along and if you'd like to have a squizzy at their fabric choices, here is the list.

Clementine Quilt a Long - Month #5 Pineapple's Puzzle

Hi Peeps!

It's the 25th of May so I'm here with your Clementine QAL block and this month it's the Pineapple's Puzzle...honestly I couldn't find any information about this block when I googled it but it's fabulous nonetheless.

This is how everything starts out isn't it....a pile of little scruffy blocks!

Then with the magic of the rotary cutter and a spinning mat...neatness happens and the perfect alignment of blocks with no dog ears! Yay!

We all know it's a bit tedious and boring but it makes sewing life sew easy ( LOL) when it comes to piecing all these bits together and matching little points.

Fat Quarter Shop are running this QAL in support of St Jude Children's Research Hospital and for a small donation you can download these cute patterns and sew your own quilt, win win!

As always I start with the 12 1/2" block first, so when I come to the 20" block it comes together so quickly and without a wonky point in sight LOL

Winter likes to get involved whenever he can....sigh

There's only one more month to go and we'll be putting it all together, I can't wait!

Have a look at some of the other clever quilters sewing along and see some different fabric combos.

Talk soon Peeps xx

Clementine Quilt A Long - Month #4 Coconut Cross

Hi Peeps!

I'm back again with your monthly Clementine QAL Block.

The Coconut Cross is another cute cute block which I thoroughly enjoyed...still some point matching but not as many as last month.

Fat Quarter shop releases these patterns every month on the 25th and for a small donation to St Judes Research Hospital you get to support a worthy cause and make something cute...win win!

The smaller block always needs a bit of encouragement from the iron and starch but now we're into the 4th month and there's only 2 to go I can't wait to put it all together. I'm not a sampler quilt girl by any stretch of the imagination but this quilt is definitely a gorgeous one with the layout FQS has chosen. For extra help here's the video tutorial with Kimberly.

Yes that is a water spot on the large block...as soon as I lay these down the cat wants to sit on them?? and he's just walked through the wet grass...sigh

Here's the linky list of the other quilters sewing along in case you'd like to check out some other fabric choices...have fun peeps, talk soon xx

Clementine Quilt Along - Month #3 Peaches and Plenty

Hi Peeps!

Can you believe it's been a month already since the last block in the Clementine QAL??

Peaches and Plenty is another super cute block which will put your 1/4" seam and point matching skills to the test!

Don't get me wrong these blocks are in no way difficult to make but they do force me to slow down and really pay attention to my most basic sewing skills...which is always a good thing.

The Clementine QAL is run by Fat Quarter Shop to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital  and they're also partnering with Moda who will generously match up $20,000 for all funds raised.

It's a $5 USD donation for downloading the latest block available on the 25th of every month.....cup of coffee once a month really ;)

OK onto the block....I actually cut my Squares for the HST even slightly larger than the suggested size in the pattern....plenty of wiggle room then when squaring them up.

And this time I made both block components simultaneously instead of one after the other, but I always sew the smaller block units together first....otherwise my attention span wanes and if I go from the big to small there's wayyyyy more moaning about the teeny squares LOL

Starch and press, starch and press....then everything matches up beautifully!

Smaller 12" block where the finished HST are 1 1/2"

The 20" block which would also make a great scrap quilt....just saying ;) The bias stripe from Bonnie and Camille's basics really messed with my eyes when cutting....I'd avoid it if you suffer migraines.

So there we have it two more blocks done and dusted and all for a great cause.
Talk soon peeps xx
