So while on holiday pre - Christmas I bought this magazine
With the intention of doing this quilt, or if I'm totally honest at least starting it....have I started it?...No
Then I saw this!! Jen Kingwell is amazeaballs!! I am a huge fan and definitely have two of her patterns on my quilty bucket list ...her colour choices are just spot on, but it's her hand piecing that is superb.
So instead of starting a big quilt to add to the teetering pile of WIP's I did this, I haven't decided what it will be yet when it grows up but it soothed my sad heart and wandering ditsy brain, that seems to have the attention span of a gnat...side effect of grief apparently
Lets keep it real I am not likely to hand sew the curved hearts or even machine sew them, but I love the idea of these words surrounded maybe by scrappy hearts or even just repeating this word over and over off centred on a plain white background?...Watch this space

I completely understand the longing to add another quilt to the UFO pile...and then thinking better of it. ;) maybe someday, right? I love the block that you did make. It is beautiful now, I can't wait to see what it turns into. I am also terribly sorry to hear about your loss.

Haha some of them not even someday anymore...I've come to the realisation that there are less hours in the day than I think...but that thought train could easily change tomorrow with 3 new starts!! Thanks for stopping by and your kind words :)
DeleteI bought that magazine with the same intention -- however it appears that you are doing better that I am at actually making something out of it. Your piece looks great and I hope that it had a healing effect.
ReplyDeleteHey Katie ! How are you and my wee minis doing?
DeleteYes I'm trying to keep the sewing light and fluffy for the foreseeable future, day by day it is :)
So nice to see you LOL thanks for stopping by!
